Migos rapper Offset pays subtle tribute to late bandmate Takeoff killed in Texas shooting

Offset has paid tribute to his Migos bandmate Takeoff after his shock death.

The talented musician died at the age of 28 after he was gunned down in a fatal shooting in Houston, Texas, on Tuesday morning.

His manager blamed a "stray bullet" and "senseless violence" for the rapper's death in a touching tribute released yesterday.

Takeoff, whose real name is Kirshnik Khari Ball, is said to have been playing a dice game with his bandmate Quavo when a fight broke out at 2.30am.

A shooter opened fire, killing Takeoff and injuring two others who were taken to hospital. Law enforcement rushed to the scene, where he was pronounced dead.

Real-life uncle and other bandmate Quavo was with him when he died and is still yet to publicly address the shooting and Takeoff's death.

Offset has paid tribute to the star, subtly changing his Instagram profile picture to a snap of the rapper alongside a white love heart emoji.

"It is with broken hearts and deep sadness that we mourn the loss of our beloved brother Kirsnick Khari Ball, known to the world as Takeoff," his representative said.

"Senseless violence and a stray bullet has taken another life from this world and we are devastated. Please respect his family and friends as we all continue to process this monumental loss."

A Houston Police spokesperson told reporters Migos rappers Takeoff and Quavo were at the scene but will not be releasing the formal identity of the male deceased yet.

Footage of Quavo trying to help his bandmate has been seen by TMZ, with the heartbroken star calling for help as his nephew Takeoff lies on the ground fatally wounded.

The publication reports Quavo wasn't injured in the shooting.

Among those leaving heartfelt messages was Drake, who had featured on the band's hit song Walk It Talk It.

He wrote on Instagram : "Takeoff is an incredible man and a beautiful person all around.

Kylie Jenner, who is dating musician Travis Scott, shared one of Takeoff's songs to her Instagram Story and sadly said: "So many prayers.

"God cover this family. Heartbreaking. Gone too soon. Devastating," alongside a broken heart emoji.
