Mighty Hoopla festival: Line-up, tickets, stage times and everything you need to know

Cheesy pop, drag queens and TV fashion stars doing DJ sets — it can only be Mighty Hoopla.

The festival returns to the capital this weekend, bringing with it a winning combination of chart-topping stars from yesteryear and some of the biggest names from the city's LGBTQ+ nightlife scene.

It's always fun, it's always colourful and it's always one of the London's most delightfully distinctive festivals, drawing a loyal crowd each year.

This is everything you need to know about Mighty Hoopla.

What date is Mighty Hoopla?

The one-day festival will take place on Saturday June 8, with things kicking into gear from noon.

Where is it?

It will all go down in south London's Brockwell Park. The green space is a festival hotspot — last year it hosted Field Day, and on the day after Mighty Hoopla it will be the home of a brand new music event, Cross The Tracks.

Who’s on the Mighty Hoopla line-up?

It’s an entirely bonkers line-up — but that’s exactly what makes Mighty Hoopla so great. If there’s any other festival in London with more fun packed into one day, then we’re yet to see it.

Chaka Khan is by the far the biggest name, and the queen of all things funk, soul and R&B will be gracing the Main Stage as the headline act. Earlier in the day on that same stage, there will be performances from Samantha Mumba, Tove Lo, Kate Nash, Confidence Man and more.

There will also be a fair few blasts from the past — All Saints, Jamelia, Liberty X and Bananarama are among the acts set to appear.

Mighty Hoopla has always been a champion of London’s LGTBQ+ nightlife, and this year will be no different, with a number of stage takeovers by some of the city’s leading institutions. Haggerston’s favourite queer spot, The Glory, will be throwing a party on Gordon Maxwell’s House of Cabaret stage, while the ever-popular Sink The Pink crew will perform twice on the Main Stage. Over at Club Pump, the gay Bollywood hip-hop night Hungama will be running the show during the afternoon.

Oh, and Gok Wan is doing a DJ set — need we say more?
