Dramatic footage has shown a vehicle engulfed in flames on a quiet residential Midlothian street.
The video, captured by a passer-by, shows a car on Lowrie Avenue, Penicuik, on fire during the day on Monday, May 23.
One local alerted others to the incident around 2pm, with another capturing footage of the vehicle, that had resulted in clouds of black smoke billowing into the sky.

With what appears to be merely the shell of the car remaining, it had begun to spit bits of debris from the wreckage, coming dangerously close to other parked cars on the street.
Although there are no emergency services present in the video, Scottish Fire and Rescue attended the blaze and extinguished the fire.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service also confirmed they were no injuries reported.
They added: "We were alerted at 2.39pm on Monday, May 23 to reports of a car on fire at Lowrie Avenue, Penicuik.
“Operations Control mobilised one fire appliance and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting one car.
“There were no reported casualties and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe."
Although there are no indications to whether the fire was deliberate or not, recent figures have shown an alarming amount of incidents involving wilful fire raising in Midlothian.
In 2021, postcodes EH18, EH19, EH20, EH22, EH23, and EH26, covering areas such as Bonnyrigg, Roswell, Roslin, Dalkeith, Gorebridge and Penicuik amounted for 36 incidents.
As well as this, a spokesperson for the SFRS also pointed to the fact that already in 2022, there appears to be an increase in such incidents, as they continue to work closely with Police Scotland in neutralising the threat of their workforce being injured due to a deliberate act.
