A driver was clocked by police doing a staggering 97mph on the A1 on Monday.
Dalkeith Road Police clocked the driver as it speeded down on the A1 on Monday, February 20. Once pulled over, it was confirmed that the Vauxhall Corsa did not have an MOT.
After undergoing a drug test on the side of the road, the driver then tested positive for cannabis.

Taking to Twitter, the road police said: " #DalkeithRP were on patrol on the #A1 yesterday when this car caught their eye. Recorded travelling at 97mph, and if that wasn't bad enough, it was found to have no MOT, and the driver gave a positive @DrugWipeUK for cannabis."
As Gov.uk states, if a driver convicted of drug driving you may get a minimum one year driving ban, an unlimited fine, up to six months in prison and a criminal record.
Your driving licence will also show you’ve been convicted for drug driving. This will last for 11 years.
The minimum penalty for speeding is a £100 fine and three penalty points will be added to the licence. Drivers could also be disqualified from driving if they build up 12 or more penalty points within a period of three years.
