Mid Ulster District Council: All the candidates running in the 2023 NI local elections

With local government elections in Northern Ireland set to take place later this month, nominations have now closed and we know which candidates we can vote for across the eleven council areas.

In the Mid Ulster District Council area, 66 candidates will compete across seven district electoral areas to elect 40 councillors to represent the public in the local authority for the next term.

One of the key talking points in the council area will be the increased number of independent Republican candidates and their battle with Sinn Féin.

Barry Monteith in Dungannon and Dan Kerr in the Torrent DEA are hoping to be joined by three more independents in what's being referred to as 'the drive for five'.

Sinn Féin will be expecting to remain the largest party within the council area when the votes are counted.

Here's the list of all the candidates standing in Mid Ulster for the election on Thursday 18 May.
