Mics picked up Jabrill Peppers openly admitting the Patriots are awful in a postgame chat with Saquon Barkley

The New England Patriots and New York Giants played one of the uglier football games of the season on Sunday. Fans were treated to 14 punts and four turnovers all for the Giants to eventually come away with a 10-7 win.

Heading into Week 13, things are looking awfully grim for the Patriots. They’re 2-9, going with a quarterback change and are apparently a punchline within in their own locker room.

Just check out how Jabrill Peppers greeted Saquon Barkley following that game:

Peppers hugged Barkley and told him, “You lucky we ass.”

I mean, he’s not wrong. The Patriots are awful. But you don’t hear many players openly admitting that on the field when mics are all over the place. Also, credit to NFL Films for actually including that footage in Inside the NFL.

Fans had plenty of thoughts on the mic’d-up soundbite as well.

This was how Twitter reacted
