Microsoft Teams, Outlook and Xbox down as thousands of users report online servers down

Microsoft Teams, Xbox Live, Outlook amongst other services are currently experiencing in an outage affecting thousands of users.

As a result, users may be unable to access multiple Microsoft 365 services with reports stating that the issue also affects Microsoft Azure - a cloud computing platform operated by the company which could impact other services.

According to DownDetector, over five thousand reports have been logged of people having issues with the first issue being reported at around 7am this morning (January 25). The majority of reports were noted at around 8am - with over two thousand alone.

Within the last hour, 615 people have reported issues which seem to mainly affect the server connection (62 per cent), the app (30 per cent) and their website (7 per cent).

Addressing the issue, Microsoft 365 Admin Center have said: "Impact is occurring to the following services but is not limited to them: Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, Outlook, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Graph, PowerBi and the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.

"We’ve isolated the problem to a networking configuration issue, and we are analyzing the best mitigation strategy to address it without causing additional impact. We’ll provide more information once we have additional information.

"Any user serviced by the affected infrastructure may be unable to access multiple Microsoft 365 services"
