Xbox Game Pass is reportedly getting a family plan, and it might be coming this year.
A report by Windows Central claims that Microsoft is working on a Spotify-like family sharing plan that’ll allow people living within the same country access to a single Xbox Game Pass subscription. Apparently, the family plan’s higher tier will let up to five people access an account’s game library.
Specifics like whether there’ll be separate plans for PC Game Pass, Xbox Game Pass, and Game Pass Ultimate remain unclear. There’s also no information on pricing either, but Microsoft will undoubtedly clarify details should this family plan come to fruition.

Xbox Game Pass remains the feather in Microsoft’s cap this console generation, especially with so many exciting games coming to the service in 2022. March alone saw titles like Crusader Kings 3, F1 2021, Shredders, and Weird West added to the service. A family plan seems like a no-brainer at this point.
Earlier this week, Sony announced its revamp of PS Plus in an attempt to create its version of Game Pass. It’s looking decent, though there are plenty of PlayStation classics we’d love to see on the service.
