Players are complaining about Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024's troubled launch where players complained of installation and server issues.

Microsoft has already responded to some of the complaints that people have had with the recently released game. The company has also said that players should wait a little while until the issues have been addressed.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Issues

A lot of the issues are most visible on Steam, which is where the game currently has a "mostly negative" rating primarily due to the various problems. Some people reported that they were completely unable to even install the game after buying it.

Others said that it took them several hours to get the game going but when they did, they saw missing menus and content. There were also people who were able to install and run the game but later had to restart the process after a restart or a crash.

One user said that they downloaded Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and were able to play and fly an airplane.

They were then prompted by the game that they needed to restart in order to apply their settings, which forced them to download a second time, according to PCGamer.

Some of the reviews on Steam also warned other people to keep an eye on their playtime for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 if they buy it. This is because downloading it already counts as playtime, which could force you out of the platform's refund policy threshold.

Microsoft acknowledged the issue that players have had with regard to "long initial loading times" in a post on social media. It noted that the large number of players concurrently trying to initialize the sim has made things difficult.

Problems With Installation

A lot of people who complained about the game's installation saw it get stuck at 97%, which resulted in the birth of a new meme. Some are now calling the game "Microsoft Flight Simulator 97" and other iterations, IGN said.

Microsoft also said that it was working on a solution to address the problems that players have been suffering with. It recommended a reboot for players who were able to load past 90% and no longer saw any progress being made.

The game was hyped up ahead of its launch and was considered one of the biggest day-one Xbox Game Pass releases in recent history. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is the latest entry in the class-leading aviation sim in the industry, according to Polygon.
