Microsoft brings a ton of improvements and fixes to PowerToys with the latest update

What you need to know

  • PowerToys version 0.71 is available for Windows 11 and Windows 10 users.
  • The update doesn't feature any new utilities, but it ships with a ton of improvements and bug fixes.
  • The Settings app title bar has been revamped to align with Microsoft's Windows 11 concept.

Microsoft has just released a new update for PowerToys, bumping it to version 0.71.0. The update is available for download for Windows 11 and Windows 10 users. And unlike the previous release, this update doesn't ship any new features.  

As you'd expect, the release ships with a ton of fixes as well as improvements. PowerToys now supports previewing archive files with Peek. The update also features a redesigned Settings app title bar and styling that aligns with Microsoft's Windows 11 standards, thus creating a consistent and sleek appearance across multiple platforms.

POWERTOYS 0.71: HIGHLIGHTS

If PowerToys is already installed in your PC, the update should roll out to you automatically. But if this isn't the case, you can trigger the update manually by opening the app and clicking on General. Next, click on the Check for Updates option followed by the Install Now button.
