Mickey Rourke has opened up about a tense run-in with the U.S. Secret Service, revealing the incident stemmed from remarks he made about former President Donald Trump.
The actor, currently appearing on Celebrity Big Brother, made the revelation during Thursday night’s episode while explaining his decision to nominate MP Michael Fabricant for eviction.
“He’s a politician,” Rourke said.
“Politics in general, they’re telling you what they’re going to do on one hand, and on the other hand they’re not going to do a thing.
“He’s involved in politics which I don’t find very truthful and honest.”
The 71-year-old continued: “I got myself in some hot water back in the United States making some comments about a particular person that I’m not gonna mention, but it was no laughing matter when the Secret Service came to talk to me.”

Rourke’s comments prompted viewers to resurface an interview he gave on Piers Morgan Uncensored in 2022, where he spoke more directly about the encounter.
In that interview, he described sharing an image of the Statue of Liberty with a tear in its eye, expressing his frustration with the political climate in the U.S.
“They call it the United States of America but it’s now the Divided States of America,” Rourke said at the time.
“There’s one big reason for that, but I’m not going to go into it because I don’t need another visit from the Secret Service.”
When Morgan asked about his visit from the agency, Rourke confirmed it had taken place “about six months” prior and said the reason was something he had said about Trump.

“Take a wild guess,” he told Morgan, before adding that what he said was “just the truth.”
Rourke’s latest revelations come amid his controversial time in the Celebrity Big Brother house, where he has already faced criticism — and a warning from producers — over homophobic comments directed at fellow contestant JoJo Siwa as well as backlash from viewers over ‘creepy’ behaviour towards show host AJ Odudu.
Celebrity Big Brother airs every night at 9pm on ITV and ITVX
