Jon Jones completed arguably the sternest goal he’s ever set for himself Saturday when he claimed the vacant heavyweight title against Ciryl Gane in the UFC 285 headliner.
After years of toying with the idea changing divisions, Jones (27-1 MMA, 21-1 UFC) finally debuted in his new weight class at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and managed to wipe the floor with an overmatched Ciryl Gane (11-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC) en route to a first-round submission victory.
It took only a matter of moments for Jones to turn his attention to his next opponent, too. Former champion Stipe Miocic was seated cageside at UFC 285, and all signs point to the pair facing off for the belt later this year.
When and where will the fight happen, though? Watch the video above for thoughts and analysis on Jones’ future after UFC 285.
