Because there are rules when it comes to showing the highlights from certain sporting events while the game is broadcast is still going on. That was the case on Monday — even after Michigan beat Washington for the national title, highlights from the game couldn’t be aired for a bit of time.
So the station did the smart thing and … drew a bunch of “highlights,” maybe using MS Paint. I don’t want to give too much away here, but this is very funny and well done.
