Michigan State had about the best weekend you could possibly have to open an NCAA Tournament. The Spartans knocked off the No. 10 seed USC to open the weekend, and followed it up with an encore of defeating the No. 2 seed Marquette to move on to the Sweet 16.
MSU and Marquette’s game was featured on the primetime 5:15 p.m. EST slot on Sunday afternoon, and it was a hit with fans across the sport. The game between the Spartans and Golden Eagles was the most watched game of the first weekend drawing 10.9 million viewers.
