Michigan State hockey downs Northern Michigan in GLI semifinal

Michigan State traveled west to VanAndel Arena in Grand Rapids for the 2024 Great Lakes Invitational. In the semifinal round, the Spartans defeated Northern Michigan, 2-0, to move on to the championship round.

The Spartans playing without star goaltender Trey Augustine and defenseman Maxim Strbak, due to world juniors, did not miss a beat against the Wildcats.

Goaltender Luca Di Pasquo will be credited with the shutout. Isaac Howard and Karsen Dorwart notched MSU’s two goals.

The Spartans will go on to face Western Michigan in the championship round, who defeated Michigan Tech in the other semifinal game in overtime.

The championship will happen on Monday at 7 p.m. and can be streamed on Big Ten Plus.
