Just in case you didn’t already know, Michigan State is now a hockey school. The Spartans have rapidly started to produce NHL talent and that trend continued on Friday when Artyom Levshunov was selected No. 2 overall in the 2024 NHL draft by the Chicago Blackhawks.
Levshunov had a 9-26-35 scoring line, which was just short of the freshman defensemen record set by Jason Wooley and Pat Betterly. He was sixth in the Big Ten in assists and eleventh in points.
