Michigan State enters this game off back-to-back wins over Illinois and Rutgers. The Spartans are 5-5 on the year and would become bowl eligible with a victory over the Hoosiers on Saturday.

Indiana, on the flip side, is 3-7 on the year and is already out of contention for reaching a bowl game. The Hoosiers have lost seven straight games, with their last win coming nearly two months ago.

Advice and prediction

I like that the Spartans are playing for a trip to the postseason while Indiana is already out of bowl contention. That motivation factor is a big deal and helps me feel better about the Spartans chances to handle the Hoosiers in this game.

Outside of the motivation factor, Michigan State on paper is a better team with more talent on both sides of the field than the Hoosiers. This is a game the Spartans should win with ease so I like them to cover this large spread.

Prediction: Michigan State 34, Indiana 17
