One of the top players from the state of Michigan in the 2023 class is officially heading to East Lansing, Mich.
Four-star defensive lineman Jalen Thompson has long been pegged by recruiting insiders to end up as a Spartan and on Monday he made it official by announcing his commitment to Michigan State. Thompson chose Michigan State over Ohio State, Penn State, Cincinnati and Pitt.

Thompson ranks as the No. 3 player from the state of Michigan and No. 30 defensive lineman in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2023 class. He’s also marked as the No. 197 overall prospect in the composite rankings.
Thompson becomes the Spartans’ 14th commitment in the 2023 class, and second defensive lineman. He joins fellow four-star and top 200 recruit Andrew Depaepe as the two defensive lineman commits in the class.
