Michigan State football has been extremely active in the transfer portal since the end of the season as Jonathan Smith looks to remake the Spartans’ roster in his image going into next year. MSU picked up their eighth transfer of the offseason on Friday, picking up a commitment from former Eastern Illinois cornerback Nijhay ‘Jay’ Burt.
Burt, a junior out of Pennsylvania, came into the league as a running back but has since switched to cornerback and nickel. He had an extremely productive season this year, tallying 64 tackles and three interceptions in 2024.
