Michigan State football lands commitment from 3-star, in-state defensive lineman

Michigan State Michigan Spartans Football Derrick Simmons

Another day, another defensive lineman commit for Michigan State football. About 24 hours after the Spartans received the commitment of Cal Thrush, the Spartans picked up a commitment from Derrick Simmons, a 2025 3-star defensive lineman from Frankenmuth, Michigan.

Simmons is the No. 9 ranked player in the state by 247Sports and picked the Spartans over programs like Illinois, Purdue, Cincinnati and Northwestern.
