It may have come down to the wire, but Michigan State basketball held firm against Illinois and came out with a gutsy win over a tough opponent, extending their winning streak to eleven games and remaining undefeated in the Big Ten. With that win, the Spartans finally cracked the top ten in the AP Poll for the first time since the start of the 2023 season.
Michigan state jumped four spots following their win over Illinois and now sit at No. 8 overall, leading the Big Ten conference. Purdue is the closest Big Ten team, sitting at No. 11. Oregon fell to No. 15 following their loss to Purdue.
