Michigan State basketball blows out Nebraska, 89-52

Michigan State basketball opened Big Ten conference play on Wednesday with a 90-72 victory over Minnesota, in Minneapolis, and on Saturday, the Spartans returned home to face Nebraska. It was once again a dominating display from the Spartans, who improve to 2-0 in the conference after a 89-52 victory over the Cornhuskers.

After a competitive first half, that resulted in a 10-point Spartan lead, Michigan State outscored Nebraska 48-21 in the second half.

Three Spartans finished in double figures with Jaden Akins (18 points), Jase Richardson (16 points) and Xavier Booker (11 points) leading the way. Jaxon Kohler once again was hot for the Spartans as well, finishing with 8 points and 12 rebounds.

MSU will look to improve their 8-2 record on Tuesday, Dec. 17 against Oakland University at Little Caesars Arena.
