Michigan State basketball heads to Purdue in yet another big-time conference showdown on Sunday, and if you’re wondering how you can watch the action live, you’ve come to the right place.
The Spartans are looking for consecutive wins for the first time in a few weeks, with Michigan State picking up a victory over Iowa earlier this week. Michigan State has dropped three of their last five, and sit 14-7 overall and 6-4 in Big Ten play this year.
Purdue remains one of the best teams in the country, ranked No. 1 entering this matchup. The Boilermakers have lost only once this year, and are 20-1 overall and 9-1 in the Big Ten.
Purdue beat Michigan State in the first meeting between the Spartans and Boilermakers this year at the Breslin Center.

Three Things to Watch
Here are three things to watch out for in this matchup between Michigan State and Purdue:
Second chance at Edey: Zach Edey has been a dominant force all season long and he was especially good in the earlier matchup against the Spartans this year. He scored 32 points (including the game-winning bucket) and grabbed 17 rebounds to lead the Boilermakers. He will once again be a tough matchup for the Spartans, and Michigan State will have to do a better job this time around to earn the victory.
Advantage in the back court: There’s no denying that Purdue has the advantage in the post with Edey, but you could probably make a similar case for the Spartans back court. Purdue also is talented in the back court with Braden Smith and Fletcher Loyer, but I still think the Spartans have the edge here with Tyson Walker, A.J. Hoggard and Jaden Akins. The Spartans’ trio combined for 49 of Michigan State’s 63 points in the earlier battle against Purdue and will need those three to play well again to win on Sunday.
Overcoming demons of Mackey: Did you know it’s been nearly 10 years since Michigan State beat Purdue on the road? I knew the Spartans had struggled at Mackey Arena in recent years but didn’t realize their last win there came in 2014. Michigan State has lost their last five road tilts against Purdue with four of those being by double digits and an average margin of 13.4 points per game. Can the Spartans finally break through and pick up a massive win at a place they historically have struggled?
Game Prediction
Prediction: Purdue 73, MSU 61
Michigan State has rarely gotten blown out this year — only game that comes to mind is at Notre Dame — so I don’t envision this being a game completely dominated by Purdue. But the Spartans have struggled at Mackey Arena and this is maybe the best Boilermakers team they’ve ever played in that building. So I don’t like Michigan State’s chances in earning this road victory — hopefully I’m wrong.
