Michigan State baseball took what seemingly was thought to be a big blow when left-handed ace pitcher Joe Dzierwa announced that he was transferring from the program. He had since committed to SEC baseball powerhouse Vanderbilt.
That will no longer be the case, though, as it has been announced that Dzierwa is withdrawing from the portal, and returning to East Lansing for another season.
Dzierwa earned All-B1G honors in his two seasons with MSU, where he posted an 11-6 record, with a 4.20 ERA and a 1.282 WHIP. He has been a workhorse for the Spartans, throwing 136 innings in two seasons.

A 6-foot-7 starting pitcher from Haskins, Ohio, he is on the MLB’s radar as a draft candidate in 2025.
