The Michigan Wolverines won their first national title since 1997 on Monday by beating Michael Penix Jr. and the Washington Huskies, 34-13, in Houston.
Washington’s loss marked the end of Penix’s incredible final college football season. Although Penix didn’t have his best game against Michigan, he still threw for 255 yards and a touchdown and was the main reason why the Huskies had a chance to win a championship this year.
The QB made an emotional walk off the field following the final whistle, and while he made his way up the tunnel, Michigan defensive end Jaylen Harrell caught up with the Huskies QB to offer his best.
