Michelle Keegan teases fans with return before showing off taut abs after Mark Wright warning exposed

Michelle Keegan teased fans with a return to one of her most beloved roles as she revealed she had 'wrapped' on one of her biggest projects to date. The actress has been hard at work filming as she is set to star in Fool Me Once, the new Netflix adaptation of bestselling author Harlan Coben's book.

She revealed the news of her next big role to her fans and followers back in February with a photo of her posing at a poolside in a bikini with the bestselling book in hand as she declared: "Finally the secrets out!!"

Michelle, who rose to fame after playing Tina McIntyre in Coronation Street, will take on the lead role of Maya Stern, who is trying to come to terms with the brutal murder of her husband, Joe (Obsession's Richard Armitage). But when Maya installs a nanny-cam to keep an eye on her young daughter, she is shocked to see her husband, who she thought was dead.

Detective Sergeant Sami Kierce (Sherwood's Adeel Akhtar) leads the homicide investigation into Joe’s death while grappling with secrets of his own. Meanwhile, Maya’s niece and nephew are trying to find the truth about their mother’s murder several months earlier.

But during a bit of late-night filming on Thursday evening (June 15), Michelle appeared to think she was back in one of her previous, much-loved roles. Taking a snap of her legs that were covered up in a pair of army cargo pants with matching khaki boots, she asked: "Our Girl or Fool Me Once?"

And fans of the Stockport-born star will know she was referring to her previous role as Corporal Georgie Lane in the hit BBC One series. She landed the role in 2016 and went on to act in the following two series after this in 2017 and 2020, taking over from EastEnders star Lacey Turner, who played the lead role of Molly Dawes in the pilot and first series of the military drama series.

But back to her current business and Michelle followed up her post with a picture of the sunset as it burned orange hues across the sky in Manchester. "Wrapped," she captioned the post before adding: "Hometime."

However, it wasn't quite clear is she had completely finished filming for the Netflix series as on Friday morning (June 16), Michelle returned to Instagram as she posted a selfie of herself walking down the street in her gym gear.

The 36-year-old showed off her taut abs in the matching black sports bra and leggings as she held onto her denim jacket and what appeared to be a cup of coffee. With her hair scraped back into a messy bun and dark shades covering her eyes, Michelle said: "Active little morning. Now time for work."

Meanwhile, Mark Wright has exposed his wife's warning from when he helps her learn lines as it turns out he's not the most natural of actors, according to the former soap star. Appearing on the Big Fish with Spencer Matthew podcast, former reality star Mark was asked if he would ever follow in his wife’s acting footsteps after she has appeared in shows such as Coronation Street, Brassic and Our Girl.

"No, and I won't. I've tried. I'm shocking," he confessed. "Tried …meaning at home, I've read Michelle’s scripts with her when we're going to bed at night. We'll go over lines and I play the other character.

"Sometimes, for fun, because it gets boring after a while... just reading and reading and reading. Sometimes I like to start going into character and she's like, 'Mark, don't, stop. You're putting me off. You're that bad. You put me off'." He added: "I could never do it... I’ve got ADHD, I’m completely mad and I switch from one thing to another. I could never act, purely because of my patience."
