Michelle Keegan emotional as she's reunited with beloved dog Pip amid filming abroad

Michelle Keegan has revealed that she had a tearful virtual reunion with her beloved dog Pip recently, after jetting off to Australia last month for her latest acting role.

The actor, 35, headed off abroad to film BBC period drama Ten Pound Poms, which follows a group of Brits who embark on an adventure on the other side of the world in the 1950s.

The project means Michelle is spending time away from home, leaving behind husband Mark Wright, 35, and her beloved dogs, chihuahua Pip and dachshund Phoebe.

She took to Instagram earlier to document a virtual reunion with Pip, telling her 5.9 million followers on the platform that it was emotional seeing her four-legged pal.

Michelle posted about the experience on her Instagram Story, uploading a screenshot of a video call between herself and Pip - who was seen gazing towards the camera.

The actor teased that she had been emotional, placing a crying emoji over her part of the screen. She'd written "me" elsewhere on the screenshot with an arrow to the emoji.

Her trip abroad had been confirmed last month, with her sharing a photo of herself at the airport and the quote: "The greatest danger in life is not taking the adventure."

Ten Pound Poms reunites Michelle with screenwriter Danny Brocklehurst, 50 - with her having starred in his other projects such as Sky's Brassic and BBC's Ordinary Lies.

"[It's] about what it means to start again, to be an outsider in a new land. It asks questions about success and failure, identity, parenthood and belonging," he said of the show.

Filming for the six-part period drama comes amid the launch of Michelle's swimwear brand Orfila Bee last week - which she had announced on her Instagram account.

She explained that the brand name is special as Orfila was her grandmother's maiden name whilst the bee represents her having been born and raised in Greater Manchester.

Announcing the launch on social media, she said: "I've always wanted to create my very own swimwear range that everybody feels comfortable in but with a twist."

"It was completely worth the wait in order to perfect a multi-way bikini that you can wear in 20 different ways and that you can wear from the beach to the bar," she added.
