Michelle Heaton showed off her new look after having breast surgery, and thanked trolls who pointed out her ‘lumpy breast’.
The former Liberty X singer, who bravely spoke about her battle with alcoholism and drugs last year, underwent a mastectomy and reconstruction almost 10 years ago following a breast cancer scare.
To celebrate her recovery from her addiction, Michelle, 42, took part in a stunning photoshoot which showcased her transformation after she finally ditched the booze and drugs following an intervention from her famous friends, including Katie Price.
However, the mum-of-two revealed cruel trolls had taken aim at her appearance when she uploaded videos and snaps from a photoshoot that was designed to focus on her health and sobriety.
But Michelle confessed there was one comment that “really did make me pay attention” and prompted her to see her doctor.
“It said something like, ‘Look at her. If I were her I’d be more worried about her breast looking like it’s exploded.’ It’s a difficult one as I always like to say I don’t read nasty comments. But for me, that wasn’t nasty, it was a saviour,” she told new! magazine.
Fearing her implant could be leaking or ruptured, Michelle - who shares children Faith, 10, and AJ, seven, with husband Hugh Hanley – visited her doctor, and later underwent further reconstruction surgery.
She said she knew the implants from her mastectomy almost a decade ago were “coming to the end of the shelf life” and she had been visiting her doctor having them checked.
“And then, when I did that photoshoot, the video [from the shoot] was uploaded and the comments came in thick and fast about an area of my breast that I hadn’t really acknowledged,” she explained.
Michelle said after the trolls pointed out her boob was “lumpy”, she could see in the video “one of my breasts was looking very angry”.
Surgeons removed the implant during the two-and-half-hour op, and Michelle said she had to have “a fat transfer from my thighs to pump it over the implant”, leaving her with bruises following the surgery.
She said her new boobs are smaller than before, but she’s impressed with the results - and so is her lucky husband Hugh.
“I’ve got to say the boobs look amazing – they’ve done such a good job. To say that this is a reconstruction, it’s not primarily a boob job, I’m amazed,” she said.
“Hugh is very happy!” Michelle laughed.
