A SCOTTISH chef is to sell his city restaurant in Edinburgh.
Tom Kitchin has said “the time is right to pass the torch to someone else” as he put the leasehold for KORA on the market.
The chef also operates the Michelin-starred Kitchin restaurant in Leith and the Scran and Scallie in the Scottish capital.
He said he is “extremely proud” of what his team built at KORA with Graham and Sibbald now marketing the leasehold.
The agent said: “Renowned Scottish chef and restaurateur Tom Kitchin has announced the sale of his celebrated restaurant, KORA, allowing Tom Kitchin and team to focus on his other ventures continuing to champion Scotland’s vibrant culinary scene.”
Kitchin (below) meanwhile commented: “KORA has been an incredible journey and I’m extremely proud of what we’ve built here.
“This decision was not made lightly, but I believe it is the right time to pass the torch to someone else as we move onto new ventures.”
The restaurant, which is “prominently located in an affluent area of Edinburgh,” is offered at £50,000 per year.
The agent added: “This iconic 80-cover restaurant is being brought to market with an outstanding fit-out and state-of-the-art kitchen.
“The restaurant for sale is in turnkey condition and benefits from a large frontage onto one of Edinburgh’s busiest streets.
“The property for sale is offered to the market on a leasehold basis.”
