Several restaurants within easy reach of Bristol have been named as new entrants in the Michelin Guide. Only 18 venues across Great Britain and Ireland were added this week, ranging in style from an American brunch destination to sushi spots and traditional village pubs.
Bristol recently enjoyed a handful of new mentions in the lauded food guide, with Bedminster's COR and Casa in Redcliffe added to the guide after less than six months. COR was subsequently awarded a Bib Gourmand alongside Blaise Castle Inn and Marmo.
This time, Bristol has missed out on a mention in the first list of new restaurant additions since the Michelin Guide Ceremony 2023 in March. Fortunately, there were several mentions of new restaurants in the South West - one of which is only half an hour away, and another 50 minutes away.

Robun in Bath has been listed, which serves exquisite sushi and yakiniku alongside a classy cocktail menu. Speaking on Robun in Bath, the guide says: "This skilfully run Japanese restaurant takes its inspiration from 19C author Kanagaki Robun, who is credited with introducing barbecued food to Japan.
"The cooking reflects his influence, with dishes from the robata grill forming the central part of a menu that is distinguished by fresh produce and an authentic approach. Excellent sushi and a strikingly presented afternoon tea also stand out on the vast menu."
Cheltenham's Journey is a new addition to the spa town's food scene but is already making a big impression. The inspectors said its "12-course tasting menu is the main attraction", with chef-owner Jeff Lewis producing well-worked combinations with plenty of techniques.
Slightly further away, another Japanese restaurant, Art Sushi, also made the list. The Bournemouth restaurant has oak-top tables and counter seating, with inspectors saying the "seafood and vegetarian preparations are undertaken with care, understanding and respect; remove the stress of decision making by going for the omakase menu".
London had the most nods on the latest Michelin Guide list with four mentions. May 2023 additions to the Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland include:
