Former Tottenham goalkeeper Michel Vorm told football.london that he believes Feyenoord boss Arne Slot would be a good fit to help his former club get back on the up.
Slot has transformed both AZ and Feyenoord in recent years and led the latter to the Eredivisie title on Sunday after going eight points clear of second-placed PSV with two games to go. The 44-year-old Dutchman has been linked to both Tottenham and Leeds after his exploits in his homeland over the past four years and the way he rebuilt Feyenoord with an exciting brand of football.
As Slot's side claimed the title on Sunday, Vorm was among a whole host of former Spurs stars such as Jermain Defoe, Robbie Keane, Ledley King, Aaron Lennon, Danny Rose, Michael Dawson, Edgar Davids and Sandro who were turning out in a remarkable charity match for Tottenham's popular kit man Steve Dukes in memory of his father and in aid of Essex & Herts Air Ambulance at Bishop's Stortford FC in front of 3,500 fans.

Managed by Harry Redknapp, Spurs won 7-1 against a team containing celebrities and ex-players with Defoe scoring a hat-trick, Keane netting twice, Sandro once and Keane's young son coming on late in the game to round off the scoring. For those Tottenham supporters in attendance it was a welcome relief from the current Spurs team, who have been a tough watch this season.
"It's been a very difficult season," Vorm told football.london. "You hope that they could have turned it around in the last couple of matches but it's been very tough.
"The last couple of games, Brentford and Leeds, you just hope they finish as strongly as possible but we'll see. I think this whole season has had a lot of ups and downs and it's just one of those seasons."
When asked whether his compatriot Slot was ready as a potential next manager for a Premier League club such as Spurs, Vorm had little doubt.
"I think he's ready. He showed that, because I know the Dutch league well and what he's done before, and I speak with a lot of players in Holland, and over the years at AZ and now at Feyenoord how positive they are about him and the style of play, how he communicates and treats all the players and they have done so well," he said.
"If you see how they did last season and then now they've won the title. He's done an amazing job and for me he would definitely be a good fit."
The 39-year-old former Netherlands international keeper was delighted to be reunited with many of his former team-mates in Sunday's charity match.
"It was great. The moment you enter the dressing room and you see all the lads. It felt so normal straight away, like you'd never been apart," he said. "You can see we're maybe not as fit as we used to be but I think when you're on the pitch everyone is still on it. You don't want to lose. It was great to be honest.
"I was enjoying it very much and especially because it's for a good cause. Everything around it, all these kids, everyone happy and it's not been easy to be a Spurs fan the last couple of months so if you can do something like this as former players I think we have to do this more often."
That so many former Tottenham players flew in from around the world for the day said plenty about the popularity of kit man Dukes, who has been at the club for 36 years and put together the match as a way of fundraising for the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance.
"It's crazy. I think this is the first time so many players have come together. This says it all, how he is as a human being," said Vorm, who pulled off one top drawer flying save in the second half. "Everyone turned up and he appreciated that so much. He did so much for us as a kit man and he was even more that that."
