Michail Antonio sends Nottingham Forest message ahead of West Ham return

Michael Antonio has called the City Ground as a 'special place to play' ahead of Sunday's meeting between Nottingham Forest and West Ham.

The Hammers striker joined David Moyes' side in 2015 from Forest after scoring 19 goals and providing a further 15 assists in 54 games on Trentside. Since then, the Jamaica international has appeared 227 times for West Ham, scoring 60 goals in the process.

Sunday's fixture will be Antonio's first visit to the City Ground since his departure seven years ago. David Moyes' side travel to the East Midlands looking to earn their first victory of the season against Steve Cooper's side (4pm kick-off).

The Premier League encounter will also be Jesse Lingard's first chance to meet the Forest supporters, against the side he reportedly turned down prior to his decision to join the Reds. Prior to the game, Antonio spoke out ahead of this weekend's meeting.

"Our focus is on getting the W this weekend," he tweeted.

"One thing's for sure, it's gonna be buzzing Sunday, City Ground is always a special place to play!"
