Michail Antonio praises three Manchester United stars after win over West Ham

Michail Antonio has praised three Manchester United players for their part in victory over his West Ham side.

Antonio, 32, was summoned from the bench at Old Trafford as the Hammers were beaten 1-0 with Marcus Rashford grabbing the winner. It was his 100th goal for United and was assisted by Christian Eriksen.

After that Premier League meeting, Antonio dropped his boots for a microphone as he stepped into the BBC Sport studio as a guest pundit on Match of the Day 2 - alongside presenter Mark Chapman. Naturally, he was asked to run the rule over that result as Rashford, Harry Maguire and David de Gea were picked out as key factors.

Antonio said: "We definitely deserved something from it, but this is football. We had so many opportunities, but De Gea was on fire, Harry Maguire put his body on the line - and only came in because of the injury to [Raphael] Varane - but he did well on Sunday.

" I was almost celebrating [when De Gea saved from Kurt Zouma]. I can't believe he got there. He was on fire. That's one thing I'll give to De Gea, he's got cat-like reflexes."

Asked about Rashford, he added: " You know he's got the quality and you know how good he is. Last couple of seasons he's not been performing, but you can see his quality. It'll be difficult not to bring him to the World Cup.

"I'd probably bring him there as left-winger. Especially if he plays like that, the number of opportunities he had, he's at the back stick, he's cutting in and he's taking shots. If he's taking shots like that, he could be a starter and not just coming on [from the bench]."
