Michael Stewart questions Celtic offside call as pundit delivers verdict on Kyogo decision

Pundit Michael Stewart reckons Celtic were denied an earlier second goal in their victory over Ross County.

Ange Postecoglou 's team re-established a six-point lead over Rangers with a hugely important 2-0 win in Dingwall.

Goals from Kyogo and Jota - the latter coming in the 87th minute - puts the Parkhead side within touching distance of the Premiership trophy with four games remaining.

Making his first start since Boxing Day, Kyogo had an earlier finish ruled out for offside but Stewart believes the officials called it wrong.

"He's constantly looking to get in behind defenders," he said on BBC Sportscene.

"He's onside there - the heel of Iacovitti is playing him on so perhaps that should've stood.

"But that's the sort of movement Kyogo is always looking to enact, getting in behind the defence."

Celtic can all-but seal the title by beating Rangers next week, a victory that would move them nine points clear with three matches to play.

And Stewart insists the league leaders will view it was as the perfect retribution scenario after being knocked out of the Scottish Cup by their rivals in last weekend's semi-final.

He said: "It's massive and also they'll be looking to get a little bit of revenge for getting knocked out of the Scottish Cup with Rangers deservedly winning that game.

"But for Celtic at home, to be effectively able to win the league by beating Rangers, it would be a nice bit of retribution, that's for sure."
