Michael Owen speaks out as daughter Gemma Owen comes second on Love Island

Football legend Michael Owen has spoken out after his daughter Gemma Owen placed second in the Love Island 2022 final with Luca Bish. The pair came runners-up, losing out to Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti who were crowned this year's winners.

Michael, 42, has remained very quiet throughout his 19-year-old daughter's stint in the famous Love Island villa, however, the BT sports pundit took to Twitter on Monday, August 1 to say how proud he was of Gemma.

Sharing a photo of the pair of them at dinner, Michael simply wrote: "She's done us proud."
