Michael Owen names Benfica player he 'likes' and makes Liverpool prediction

Liverpool will be looking to reach the semi-final of the Champions League when they face Benfica this evening.

The Reds take on the Portuguese outfit in the second leg of their quarter-final tie at Anfield tonight, with a 3-1 lead from the first leg. Ibrahima Konate, Sadio Mane and Luis Diaz got the goals last week at the Estadio da Luz.

Should Liverpool get past Benfica tonight, they would then set up a semi-final with Villarreal. The Spanish club claimed a memorable 2-1 aggregate victory over Bayern Munich in their quarter-final.

Ahead of tonight's game at Anfield, former Reds striker Michael Owen has weighed in on how he sees the tie going. The ex-striker is often a pundit for BT Sport’s coverage of Liverpool’s matches in the Champions League, too.

Owen has predicted Liverpool to get through to the semi-final with relative comfort against Benfica. However, he has named the player that he thinks the Reds could need to keep an eye on.

"This should be a straightforward night at Anfield," Owen is quoted saying in The Mirror .

"Benfica caused a few problems in Lisbon, but Liverpool deserved to win by at least a couple of goals.

“I like the look of Darwin Nunez, but I can't see him or Benfica causing too many problems. 2-0 Liverpool."
