Michael Owen has sent a bold message to Erling Haaland after he bagged his second hat-trick in English football against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night.
Manchester City dominated from the first whistle at the Etihad Stadium and the Norwegian grabbed his first of the game in the 12th minute. A Foden cross was poked home by Haaland at the near post before the pair linked up again to make it two.
Haaland would complete the perfect hat-trick on the 38th minute, heading home from close range after Stones had done well to re-direct the ball back across goal. In the second 45, Forest's woes would continue.

Joao Cancelo's thunder-strike made it four, five minutes into the half. Julian Alvarez got his first on the 65th minute after a lovely assist from Riyad Mahrez.
Alvarez made it six with time running out, firing past Dean Henderson to wrap up a truly miserable evening for the East Midlands club. Despite a brilliant team performance from the Blues, all attention was focused on one man at full time.
The 22-year-old broke the Premier League record for the least amount of games it has taken for a striker to score two hat-tricks and former United forward Owen told the Blues forward that only injury can stop him now. In a tweet, the ex-England man said: "I repeat, this fella is going to break virtually every goal-scoring record there is.
"He’s too big, too quick, clinical in front of goal and he’s playing in a team that create dozens of chances. All he need to do is stay fit."
Haaland leads the way in the race for the Golden Boot with nine goals in just five games.
