Michael Owen has jetted off abroad following his daughter Gemma's return to the UK from her time on Love Island.
Football legend Michael, 42, revealed he had flown away in sought of a "few days of sun" – but is understood to have not yet met 19-year-old Gemma's love interest Luca Bish yet.
Michael, who recently broke his silence over Gemma's Love Island stint, shared a photo of himself sat in a restaurant on Tuesday August 9 on his Instagram page.
The image sees the former England football star smiling while folding his arms and sitting at a table inside the eatery.
As he shared the snap with his 426,000 followers, Michael wrote in the caption: "A few days of sun" followed by a smiling face wearing sunglasses emoji.
The trip comes as Michael is yet to meet his daughter's love interest Luca.
Gemma, who is rumoured to be poised to sign a six-figure clothing deal, and fishmonger Luca, 23, sparked a romance after meeting in the Love Island villa and made it to the final – finishing in second place behind Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti.
Brighton-based Luca met Gemma's mum Louise, who is married to Michael, and close friend as they entered the villa during the Meet the Parents challenge.
But, Michael failed to turn up to the villa to give this verdict on the pair's romance.
Michael did eventually reunite with Gemma when she left the villa and returned to the family mansion.
Over the weekend, dad Michael shared a series of photos showing himself with his daughter at the welcome home party thrown in her honour.
As he posted the snap of the pair perched on a yellow bean bag, he wrote in the caption: "Welcome home @gemowen_1 it’s good to have you back!"
Meanwhile the 23-year-old wasn't spotted at Gemma's family reunion party over the weekend.
And during Sunday night's reunion show, host Laura Whitmore quizzed Luca on whether he had spoken to the protective football pundit yet.
She put to him: "I know you've met her mum, have you met her dad yet?"
Luca, who recently admitted to having an argument with Gemma, replied: "Not yet, we've had a little FaceTime together and that's it."
And during an Instagram Live with his friend Jacques O'Neill, Luca revealed he is yet to make his romance with Gemma official as he is awaiting "written consent" from Gemma's mum Louise.
When quizzed bout when he will ask the dressage rider the big question, he said: "Yeah mate, it's coming. I'm just waiting on written consent from her mum aren't I?"
Luca then added: "Louise is lovely. Me and Gemma are good, I'm seeing her tonight - we're getting some food."
