Michael Owen delivers Nottingham Forest relegation verdict ahead of Arsenal

Nottingham Forest will be safe from relegation if they claim one more point, believes Michael Owen.

The Reds are currently three points and two places above the Premier League drop zone with two matches left to play, having claimed a vital four points in their last two matches with victory against relegated Southampton and a draw at Chelsea.

Leeds United and Leicester City are currently in the relegation zone alongside doomed bottom club Southampton, while Everton are in 17th place, two points behind Forest.

Looking at the remaining fixtures of the clubs still in danger, former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester United striker Owen believes one more point for Forest - who face Arsenal at the City Ground on Saturday and Crystal Palace away on the final day of the season - will be enough to ensure they are playing top flight football again next season.

“Leicester and Leeds to go down,” the pundit told The Final Word. “Leicester will need four points, and that will be a struggle. Leeds, I’m not sure they can do it.

“Everton have a good run in, Forest have got 34 points already. One more and they’re safe."
