A football coach is under fire after Michael Owen called him out for a vile tweet about his daughter Gemma.
The 19-year-old has been in the Love Island villa for almost a week and has attracted a lot of attention.
Proud dad Michael, 42, has been answering questions about his "baby" and admitted he didn't want to see his Gemma kissing on the show.
But this prompted a crude response from football coach Paul Proud's Twitter account.
The former Glasgow City FC employee posted on Twitter : "Can't wait to see her getting smashed," followed by a series of laughing emojis.
Michael was outraged by the comment and tweeted back: "What a fine example to set from a man in your responsible position.”
Fans followed suit in criticising the coach, with one writing: "Nice comment from a fella who works with youths.”
While another said: "U18 coach of a girls team too.”
Proud’s Twitter feed claimed he was the coach for the Glasgow City FC under 18 development squad.
However when contacted by the Scottish Sun he confirmed he no longer held the position.
He said: “My account has been deleted and I have resigned from my position with immediate effect so there is no story to run,” reports The Sun.
Proud added that the post was made “in jest”, “taken out of context” and that the “correct action has been taken by myself to remove myself from the club”.
Father-of-four Michael recently spoke about watching his daughter on the show, admitting he didn't want to see "physical contact".
He also spoke of how hard it had been for his wife, Louise, to read the online criticism Gemma had received since going in the villa.
The dressage rider has been slammed for being 'rude and too young' but Michael insists she's mature for her age.
He also told MailOnline : "She’s not two-faced. She’s loyal, a decent person."
Gemma's world is about to be rocked on the show with the arrival of her ex-boyfriend Jacques O'Neill.
The rugby star, 23, dated the famous offspring for a year and even met her famous dad, according to reports.
However things are about to get even stranger for the equestrian.
Now reports have suggested Jacques isn’t the only past boyfriend of Gemma’s who will make his debut on the show.
Another ex named Cameron Green is also expected to enter the villa too.
An ITV spokesperson confirmed to the publication that Gemma and Cameron knew each other before entering the villa, saying: “Gemma and Cam are friends.”
The addition of Cameron to the villa is sure to add some extra heat to the series to the Ex on the Beach style twist.
Meanwhile Jacques has already hinted he hopes to win back the swimwear designer by taking part in the show.
Love Island is on ITV2 at 9pm.
