Pitcher Michael Lorenzen literally just joined the Philadelphia Phillies about a week ago, and he’s already made history for the franchise.
In a 7-0 Phillies win over the Washington Nationals on Wednesday night, Lorenzen threw a no-hitter in 124 pitches in his home debut for the team.
It’s only the 14th no-hitter in Phillies history, even more impressive when you consider that the team just added Lorenzen from the Detroit Tigers last week at the MLB trade deadline.
His new Phillies teammates immediately crowded him on the diamond to celebrate the achievement, and the camera even caught Lorenzen’s family cheering him on in the stands with plenty of emotion to spare.
You can’t help but feel the excitement as everyone celebrated this awesome moment for Lorenzen’s career.

This is just everything you want to see for a guy who gets traded midseason, and you can bet that Lorenzen will always hold his time with the Phillies close to his heart after pitching such a phenomenal performance on the mound for Philly on Wednesday.
If the team is able to win a World Series this fall with Lorenzen playing a part, it’ll make the trade even sweeter.
