Michael Jordan slammed as "a**hole" as Last Dance rival launches explosive rant

Michael Jordan and Isiah Thomas' beef is in no danger of ending any time soon, with the former Detroit Pistons player slamming the Chicago Bulls icon as "an a**hole".

Thomas and Jordan have an intense rivalry dating back to the 1980s, when the Pistons and the Bulls jostled for NBA supremacy. They first fell out in 1985, when Thomas was allegedly unhappy about the attention Jordan, then a rookie, was receiving before the All-Star game.

The pair then duelled again over the course of the late '80s and early 90s, with Thomas' Pistons playing an aggressive style that seemed to target Jordan. Thomas then alleged in 'The Last Dance' that he felt Jordan was responsible for him being left off the 'Dream Team' for the 1992 Olympic Games, in which Team USA won gold.

In the documentary, Jordan took issue with Thomas failing to shake his hand after the Bulls defeated the Pistons in the 1991 Eastern Conference Finals. That particular incident appeared to irk Jordan more than any other, as he explained in the ESPN documentary.

Speaking to camera, he said of Thomas' excuse for snubbing the handshake: "I know it's all bulls***. Whatever [Isiah] says now, you know it wasn't his true actions then.

"[He's had] time enough to think about it, or the reaction of the public that's changed his perspective. You can show me anything you want. There's no way you can convince me he wasn't an a**hole."

Now, Thomas has reignited the feud, describing Jordan as an "a**hole", and saying their beef will continue until Jordan apologises to him. He said: "When I was watching 'The Last Dance', I’m seating there and I’m watching it with my family and I’m thinking everything is good.

"And then this guy comes on television and he says that he hates me and then he calls me an asshole. And then I proceed to watch a whole documentary about him being an a**hole.

"I’m like wait a minute, time out. Until I get a public apology, this beef is gonna go on for a long long time, cause I’m from the west side of Chicago.”
