On Tuesday, a 34-year-old man, identified as the son of NBA legend Michael Jordan, was arrested in central Florida on a misdemeanor drug charge. The incident occurred when police officers discovered his Lamborghini SUV stuck on railroad tracks in Maitland, a suburb of Orlando, just minutes before a commuter train was due to pass through.
The man, Marcus Jordan, was charged with possession of cocaine, a second-degree misdemeanor, as well as resisting an officer without violence. The arrest was made after officers found a bag containing a substance that tested positive for cocaine in Jordan's possession.
According to the police report, officers had initially approached Jordan's vehicle after he had fled from a traffic stop in a neighboring county. Upon interacting with him, they observed signs of impairment, including the smell of alcohol, slurred speech, and confusion.
Despite being released from the Orange County Jail on Tuesday, Jordan declined to speak to reporters about the incident. Jordan, a former basketball player for the University of Central Florida, now faces legal consequences for his actions.
