The sister of tragic rock star Michael Hutchence opened up on a disturbing secret that she says finally provides an explanation for his untimely death.
Tina Hutchence said her family recently discovered that the INXS lead singer had suffered a brain injury when he was punched by a taxi driver on a visit to Denmark in August, 1992.
And she also slammed his ex-girlfriend supermodel Helena Christensen for failing to reveal the details of his injuries after Michael died of suicide in a Sydney hotel room in November 22, 1997.
She told The Sun: "I know Michael was so happy with Helena and there was a time when I could not imagine them not being together.
"But I did feel angry when I first found out about the assault, as I felt it was her duty to say something to his family."
Tina went on to talk about 'awful rumours' about Michael's death including that he died after a sex act gone wrong.
She claims Helena should have reached out to her family to set the record straight.
Tina added: "There were all these awful stories about Michael after he died, so for Helena not to tell us about the head injury was wrong. She was very close to our parents and could have easily reached out.
"I'm sure that if Michael didn't have that accident in Denmark, he would still be with us today."
Catwalk model Helena opened up about the attack for the first time in a 2019 documentary about the INXS frontman's life called Mystify: Michael Hutchence.
She told of the moment she watched a taxi driver shouting at Hutchence to move out of his way before getting out of his car and punching him, according to ABC.
The singer fell backwards and smashed his head on the curb, she said, which left him unconscious in the middle of the street.
He suffered multiple brain injuries and began taking drugs to deal with the pain caused from the injury, she said.
Helena told the documentary: "He was unconscious and there was blood coming out of his mouth and ear."
She added that when he woke at the hospital, he wasn't the same person, adding: "This dark, very angry side came out in him... (he changed from) joyful, sweet, deep and emotional to dark and very angry."
Hutchence was found dead in his hotel room in Sydney in the morning of 22 November 1997.
His death was reported by the New South Wales Coroner to be the result of suicide by hanging.
