Michael Flatley warns fans of fake social media account

Michael Flatley has warned fans to be wary of a fake Instagram account pretending to be him.

The legendary Irish dancer has been made aware of the social media profile which is potentially scamming it's followers.

He warned fans: “Please be aware of FAKE Instagram account contacting you directly. Please report.

“I do not make direct contact.”

He then jokes: “I am the Lord of the Dance,” followed by a wink emoji.

It comes just weeks after RTE presenter Ronan Collins issued the same warning to fans.

Ronan's legitimate Instagram account has the handle @ronancollinsdj while this fake one has an extra J at the end and is posting under @ronancollinsdjj.

The fake account also has the same profile picture and bio as the much-loved DJ's actual account.

Ronan has asked his followers to be careful as he shared a screenshot to his page.

He wrote: "Hi all. There's an account pretending to be me and messaging followers potentially trying to scam them. Please be aware and block/report this profile.

"You'll notice an extra j at the end of dj."

In recent times country stars Lisa McHugh, Nathan Carter and Cliona Hagan have all warned their followers about fraud profiles.

And just earlier this month, Derry Girls star Nicola Coughlan warned her followers that people are pretending to be her on social media.
