Michael Flatley shares heartwarming snap with son amid cancer recovery

Michael Flatley enjoyed a day out at this weekend's rugby match as he continues to recover from cancer.

The 64-year-old shared photos of himself and his son, Michael St. James, at Aviva Stadium as Ireland triumphed over France. Michael revealed on January 18 he had been released from hospital following his diagnosis with an aggressive but undisclosed form of cancer.

He wrote on Instagram: "A fabulous win for Ireland yesterday at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin. And great to share the moment with my son Michael St James."

The star had previously fought melanoma in 2003, after an eagle-eyed fan noticed a worrying mark on the star's face during an interview on MTV. Michael revealed on Instagram last month that he had been diagnosed with cancer for a second time and asked fans to send on their prayers.

People reacted positively to Michael's rugby post and wished the performer well. Several people also noted the similarity between Michael and his son in the photo.

One person wrote: "I hope everything is going well for you and your family - glad it seems that the treatment worked well for you. You look amazing."

Another person commented: "Fabulous photo Michael. Great win too. Your son is the image of you."

Michael is also heavily involved with Lord of the Dance's 25th anniversary celebrations. The tour is set to open in the Bord Gais Energy Theatre on 22 February, although Michael himself will not perform in the scheduled shows.
