Michael Duff's verdict on facing Bolton Wanderers as Barnsley boss makes FA Cup draw claim

Barnsley manager Michael Duff feels his side's FA Cup third round tie against Bolton Wanderers is as tough as it could've been for the Tykes.

The two sides meet at the UniBol three weeks after the goalless draw in League One, with a place in round four at stake. Three points and two places separate Bolton and Barnsley in the league, with Saturday's clash the chance to build up some momentum before the World Cup break.

Ian Evatt's men are looking to bounce back from a disappointing defeat to Oxford United, while Barnsley head into the clash on the back of a home win against Forest Green. Duff is well aware of Bolton's strength on their own patch and knows his side will have to be right at it in order to progress.

"We know them quite well," said Duff. "It's as tough a draw as we could have probably got I reckon. I think they've got one of the best home league records in the league. It was a really tight game down there - there wasn't a lot of chances for either team. We're going there to try and win the game.

"It's important to back up the performance (against Forest Green). We don't get too carried away with the noise. It was an OK performance last week. Much better, much improved - against lower opposition. But that's what we've struggled against recently. Against the bigger teams, our performances have been OK, so we're trying to back it up again against one of the big boys."
