Hollywood legend Michael Douglas has revealed how fans now mistake him for his famous father Kirk.
Michael, 76, says he was taken aback when parents at his kids' school mistook him for iconic Spartacus actor Kirk. Michael, who does resemble his late dad now, says he does not get angry, but simply plays up to the comedy.
He shared the awkward moment at the virtual high school graduation of daughter Carys, the youngest of his two children with wife Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Douglas explained: “We had a lovely experience. It was a virtual graduation.
"We couldn’t actually be in the same room that she was in because of COVID protections and all of that “And it was so wonderful and we’re so proud of her, but I’ve got to tell you, Kelly, it’s a little rough when you’re going out the doors and the other parents are saying, ‘Oh congratulations … you must be so proud of your granddaughter.
"I said 'well. I don't know man'. I’m not gonna take it personal. They’re just trying to be nice,”
Michael revealed that his dad, who died last year aged 103, gave a lot of advice, but the key line was “If you do the best you can, and when you walk away say f*** it, just know you gave it your all'.”
With son Dylan, 20, returning to college and Carys set to begin her first year in the fall, Douglas and Zeta-Jones are now pondering their new status as empty-nesters.
He told NBC: “We had everyone home back last year when COVID happened.
"Then there is that moment when they’re gone and they’re out of the house… and you look at each other and in the back of your mind, you’re thinking, ‘What are we going to talk about?
“As a marriage so much of your time revolves talking about your kids.
I think we are going to do really well. We have got our suitcases packed and we are going to be traveling a lot in the next couple of years. I am going to be working in Europe.”
