Michael Cohen Testifies On Pressure Campaign To Not Cooperate

Michael Cohen Former U.S. President Trump's civil fraud trial continues, in New York Michael Cohen Appears at supreme court

During a recent testimony, Michael Cohen revealed details of an email exchange with Robert Costello, shedding light on the dynamics within the legal team representing him. Cohen testified that Costello had made it clear to Rudy Giuliani that he was part of the team, expressing concerns about Cohen seeking representation elsewhere.

The email exchange between Costello and Cohen on June 14 further highlighted the tensions. Costello sent Cohen a YouTube link titled “Giuliani on possibility of Cohen cooperating Muller probe,” prompting Cohen to question the intention behind the email. In response, Costello sent a lengthy email addressing Cohen's concerns.

In the email, Costello disputed the notion that Trump and Giuliani were trying to discredit Cohen, suggesting that Cohen was influenced by a narrative pushed by the media. Costello emphasized that many media outlets were already speculating about Cohen's cooperation, urging him not to believe the negative portrayal.

Cohen interpreted Costello's email as part of a broader pressure campaign to convince him that he still had the support of the president. Cohen summarized the underlying message as 'Don’t flip, Don’t speak, Don’t cooperate,' indicating an attempt to reassure him amidst mounting external pressures.
