In the email, Michael Cohen clearly stated his position to Robert Costello and Jeff Citron, saying, 'Gentleman, please cease contacting me as you do not and have never represented me in this or any other matter.'
Furthermore, Cohen's email indicated that any interest or offers to join his legal team had to be approved by his existing counsel, Guy Petrillo, whose approval was denied.
